Instructions on how to make a DIY Monster corner bookmark for kids!
Handmade corner bookmarks are extremely practical and easy for kids to use. Create your own characters using scrap paper and cut out characters or illustrations from old wrapping paper or cards.
What you'll need to make a corner bookmark for kids:
You will need:
- Straight scissors
- Decorative scissors
- Sturdy paper or card
- Decorative paper
- Glue stick
- Pen
- Ruler
- Googly eyes
Step One
Measure and create a square that is 13cm x 13cm and then fold it in half into a triangle.
Step Two
Fold the triangle in half again for a second time.
Step Three
Open the piece of paper and then cut out one triangle.
Step Four
Use the triangle piece you cut out as a template to mark out the decorative paper.
Then draw the outline of your monster on the green card.
Cut the monster shape out with scissors. You could also try this using zig zag scissors.
Step Five
Apply glue to one side of a smaller triangle (next to where you cut a piece out) and then fold together so two pieces are now glued together and make a smaller triangle.
Step Six
Glue the monster shape to the small triangle
Step Seven
Draw some monster eyes and a mouth on white paper and then cut them out.
Step Eight
Glue the eyes and mouth onto the monsters body. Then glue on the googly eyes.
